The Ten Ox Herding Pictures and the Dasabhumika Vibhasa come from different Buddhist worlds, yet they map remarkably similar territory. Their shared ground lies less in doctrine and more in how awakening unfolds in lived experience. While these two traditional teachings map the natural arc of awakening, Mondo Zen attempts to shortcut the arc without skipping the work.

Over 12 weeks, we will explore these fundamental teachings, using Jun Po Roshi’s first ten Koans of Mondo Zen.
