Statement of Purpose  

The content of programs at Hollow Bones Zen is provided to you as a registered participant and  is offered solely for your personal development.  

Refund and Cancellation Policy  

For retreats and sesshins

• 90% refund if cancelled at least 30 days prior
• 75% refund if cancelled 15 days prior
• 50% refund if cancelled 14 days or less prior

No refunds will be granted after the program/retreat has begun with exceptions to be determined by the Executive Director.  Cancellations, withdrawals, or transfers must be made in writing to Reishin Denise Leong  (reishin@hollowboneszen.org).  

Transfer Policy  

Participants who are unable to complete the program or attend retreat due to extenuating  circumstances are allowed to transfer their full tuition to a future program/retreat within a  twelve-month period. Transfer arrangements must be made with the Program Director before  the beginning of the program/retreat. Contact Reishin Denise Leong

Terms and Conditions  

By registering for all programs or retreats at Friends of Zen/Hollow Bones, you agree to the  following terms and conditions:  

Risks and Waiver of Liability: I understand there are risks involved with participating in any program aimed at personal transformation. I recognize that these programs include psychological, social and spiritual exercises that might be stressful and trigger physical, mental, psychological, and spiritual reactions.  

I am fully aware of the risks and potential hazards involved in participating in transformative  work. I understand that educational activities may release strong emotions and disorienting  experiences, and I accept this possibility and the results of such emotional releases and  disorientations.  

Although I appreciate that staff at Friends of Zen/Hollow Bones and all parties connected with it  will endeavor to serve as well as possible, I acknowledge there are risks and dangers involved in  my participation that Friends of Zen/Hollow Bones and its principals, employees, mentors, and  contractors (collectively, Course Facilitators) cannot eliminate.  

a. I accept and assume risks. I acknowledge that I am solely responsible for my welfare. In  consideration for being permitted to participate in a program/retreat at Friends of  Zen/Hollow Bones, I agree to assume full responsibility for all risks, injuries or damages,  both known and unknown, that, though unlikely, might occur from my participating in  such activities. 

b. LIABILITY WAIVER AND COST INDEMNIFICATION: Because I acknowledge and assume full  responsibility for my own physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health and well being, I agree to waive all claims of liability and any lawsuit or other proceeding alleging  injury to my person or property connected with my participation in program/retreat at  Friends of Zen/Hollow Bones. The intended beneficiaries of this waiver include all staff  and faculty at Friends of Zen/Hollow Bones. I agree to hold harmless and indemnify all  such parties for any costs and legal fees arising from any legal or other claim or  allegation of harm, injury, or negligence due to my participation in the program/retreat.  

c. Release and waiver is as broad as possible. I agree that this release and waiver will be  interpreted as broadly as the law allows, and that if part of this waiver is deemed invalid,  then the balance of the release and waiver shall remain in effect.  

d. This Agreement is governed by the laws of the state of Wisconsin.
