Shunya Prajna Lynn Hyer
Wisconsin
Shunya Prajna Lynn Hyer began sitting with Green Tara Sangha, Green Bay, Wisconsin, in 2010. She took jukai March of 2013, ordained December of 2015, and completed Mondo Zen Facilitator training May of 2018.
Her journey includes being raised as a Roman Catholic and a member of an extended traditional Midwest family, twelve years in a Catholic parochial school system, ending with four years at an all-girls Academy. Life thus far has been an adventure with many life lessons. Some needed repeating, but all have been fruitful in their own unique way.
Shunya has a BA from Lakeland College in Business Administration and Quality Management. She is the 2020 President of Wild Ones Green Bay, an organization promoting native plants and natural landscapes, a certified ESL and Literacy Trainer at Green Bay Literacy, and routinely serves as Top Cat at Cats Anonymous, a TNR animal welfare group which coordinates monthly Spay Day events. Travel, gardening, and yoga are also near and dear to her heart.
She is deeply grateful to all her teachers, family, friends, and two live in Zen Masters, Bonnie and Clyde, for their on-going support of her practice.
