Hello, my dharma name is Engo DoHi and my given birth name is Michael Jackson.  I have searched “many lifetimes” and buried many buddhas, seeking to attain and understand that which cannot be attained nor understood.

My spiritual path started early, being raised Roman Catholic, and serving as an Altar Boy until I turned 18 and moved away to attend UCLA. Shortly thereafter I discarded Catholicism, and took a more trial-and-error, experiential approach to spiritual investigation.

After much reading, a wide array of experiences, and a general discarding of religions altogether; my practical, spiritual approach to life began to seriously mature when I encountered the ManKind Project in June 2007. Through connections at MKP, I attended my first Hollow Bones retreat in September 2009.

For the first time in my adult life, I experienced a true spiritual transmission and finally understood WHY to meditate. Taking this teaching seriously, I committed to attending every retreat for 3 years and took Jukai with the name Engo in June 2010. After completing my 3-year commitment, I finally ordained formally as a Priest in January 2013.

Amazingly, I have also come to appreciate just how beautiful my Catholic teachings were, once I was able to properly understand them through this teaching.

I am happily married for 13 years to Vyctoria Luong, with our sons Dylan (age 9) and Tyler (age 6) as of 2020. I am blessed to be a stay-at-home Dad, while Vyctoria works to provide our financial sustenance.

I am also deeply involved with developing a much more formal and structured environment at Hollow Bones, for the purpose of sharing our Hollow Bones teachings, and hopefully ensuring the ongoing relevance and survival of our Order beyond the life of Jun Po Roshi.
