Awakening with the Earth
That magic moment… when we once again see a small bud begin to form on a tree branch. A green blade of grass appears on a brown field, a daffodil unfurls overnight, a gentle breeze tickles in the warm sun. The world regains its color. Spring is back!

But did it ever leave?

Spring, and all the other seasons, do not really come and go; they are always present until causes and conditions allow their appearance to our senses once again. Beneath the frozen ground, under the mounds of snow, spring patiently awaits.

Being at peace with this great mystery of life is what John Daido Loori called the “endless spring.” Buddha Nature, like the eternal spring, is always here, waiting to blossom when we choose to remember who we really are. Our Clear Deep Heart Mind is always present no matter what our circumstances.

As we navigate the ever-changing landscape of our lives, may we find refuge in our practice. Let us embrace each day with open hearts and minds, trusting that in the midst of life’s uncertainties, we can face the unknown with courage and grace, with unconditional love and compassion. Let us walk this endless spring path with awe, humility, and gratitude remembering the truth of impermanence.

May we take time each day to appreciate the simple beauty around us – a bird’s song, the rustle of leaves, the splashes of color, the warmth of the sun on our skin. By being aware, present, and mindful, we can embrace our interconnectedness and find our place and peace among the wild things.
